Is Cosmetic Tattoo suitable for women who are during pregnancy or breastfeeding?

As Cosmetic Tattoo Artist, I cannot provide medical advice, and it is important to consult with a medical professional, such as an obstetrician or a primary care physician, before considering any cosmetic procedure while pregnant or breastfeeding. However, many medical professionals advise against getting cosmetic tattoo procedures during pregnancy and breastfeeding. At Refresh Cosmetics, We are NOT RECOMMENDED women who are during pregnancy and breastfeeding have any cosmetic tattooing procedures.

In addition to anesthetics, there are other risks associated with cosmetic tattoo procedures for pregnant or breastfeeding women. These risks can include:

  • Infection: Anytime the skin is broken, there is a risk of infection. Pregnant and breastfeeding women are more susceptible to infections due to hormonal changes that can affect the immune system. Infections can be dangerous for both the mother and baby.

  • Allergic reactions: Some pigments used in cosmetic tattoo procedures can cause allergic reactions. Pregnant and breastfeeding women may be more sensitive to allergens due to changes in hormone levels, making them more susceptible to allergic reactions.

  • Difficulty healing: Pregnancy and breastfeeding can affect the body's ability to heal. The skin may take longer to heal after a cosmetic tattoo procedure, and scarring may occur.

  • Changes to the skin: Hormonal changes during pregnancy and breastfeeding can cause changes to the skin's texture and color. This can affect the appearance of the tattoo and may cause it to fade or change color over time.

  • Exposure to toxins: Some pigments used in cosmetic tattoo procedures may contain toxins that can be harmful to the baby if they are absorbed into the bloodstream.

Therefore, it is recommended to wait until after pregnancy and breastfeeding before considering any cosmetic tattoo procedures. It is essential to prioritize the health and safety of both the mother and the baby during this critical time.
